The NYFS Foundation

NYFS has created a Foundation Board to provide an acceptable, recognizable, and accessible entity such that an active relationship between psychoanalysis and the professional and public communities can be more easily facilitated. The Foundation Board aims to provide a place where community members can have input into the outreach activities of the Society by working with our Members toward a common aim: the preservation and promotion of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy as a valuable tool in understanding and promoting mental health.



The International Books Committee

The International Books Committee, Chaired by Edwin Fancher, was established in 2002 when several foreign universities contacted us after having seen our Abstracts of the Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud on our web site. Since that time we have been in email contact with the libraries of two Iranian universities, and a university library in Pakistan, and have sent them many books and journals about Freud and psychoanalysis. Some of these books and journals have been donated by members of NYFS, and the rest have been purchased by the Society with money donated by members of NYFS, in order to present a current and comprehensive picture of psychoanalysis to universities in these countries.
